Energy Advantage is a type of clear Low E glass that possesses a highly transparent composition, providing exceptional performance in both thermal insulation and solar control, surpassing the capabilities of traditional clear float glass.

The glass has been engineered with an advanced design, specifically to optimize solar heat gain by reflecting heat back into the room, retaining warmth, and allowing a substantial amount of solar energy to penetrate. This unique design enables Energy Advantage to generate warmer and brighter interiors while simultaneously decreasing heating and lighting costs, making it a prime selection for increasing energy efficiency.

Features:

  • High solar heat gain which reduces the need for heating and lighting
  • Significant enhancement in thermal insulation and solar control compared to clear float glass
  • Allows a high level of solar energy to enter, resulting in warmer and brighter interiors
  • Suitable for safety glass applications
  • Can be toughened to reduce the risk of thermal breakage
  • Can be used in monolithic form or combined with K&K performance IGU for enhanced energy efficiency
  • Can be laminated for added safety and noise reduction

Benefits:

  • Reduced need for heating and lighting, resulting in lower energy costs
  • Improved thermal insulation and solar control, leading to greater energy efficiency and a more comfortable indoor environment
  • Warmer and brighter interiors, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of a space
  • Enhanced safety features, making it suitable for use in high-risk areas
  • Reduced risk of thermal breakage, increasing the durability and longevity of the glass
  • Improved energy efficiency, which can lead to long-term cost savings
  • Added safety and noise reduction when laminated, creating a more secure and comfortable living or working environment.

Considerations

Energy Advantage can be cut and processed, toughened, laminated, curved or fabricated into K&K performance range of insulating glass units to significantly improve the performance and energy efficiency.

The Low E coating requires special care when cleaning and installing the product to ensure it maintains its quality. Refer to the resource centre for care and cleaning instructions.

The Low E coated surface should be glazed to the inside of the building and should not be used when the surface is permanently exposed to the exterior.

The placement of air conditioning vents adjacent to and directed on the internal glass surface coating may reduce the performance of this product.
